Spring Watercolor Workshop for Beginners

Class Supplies

You can buy supplies here at Art Supply Wholesale, an independent art store at 4 Enon St., in Beverly, (800/462-2420) with very competitive pricing. If the links don’t work, go to and type my name – Cara Connors – into the search bar and it will take you to the class supplies. (Also, consider bringing a small notebook and pencil or pen for taking notes.)

Intro To Watercolor SUPPLY LIST


  • ARCHES COLD PRESS PAD 140 LB 10" X 14”


  • ​​​​​​​Folding Palette 9”X 9.5"


  • ​​​​​​​Lauren Synthetic Watercolor Brush Round #10


  • ​​​​​​​Lauren Synthetic Watercolor Brush Wash 3/4”


  • ​​​​​​​Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolor Tube Paints ( 8ml or larger)​​




  • Burnt Sienna
  • Lemon Yellow Hue

  • Permanent Rose

  • Ultramarine (blue)


If the store is out of the Arches watercolor pad (or any other supplies) please do not buy another watercolor pad by a different brand; they are NOT the same quality.

Instead you can do one of the following:


  • Get the same Arches watercolor pad in a larger size

  • OR order online from here or visit the store in Cambridge, MA, 

  • OR order online from Artist and Craftsman here or visit the store on Route 1 in Saugus

  • OR Buy a watercolor block,* not a pad, by Arches or Fabriano: (You want 140 lb, cold press, 100% cotton, at least 10 x 14 inches.) *Blocks are glued on all four sides.

  • OR Buy a full watercolor sheet (which can be ripped/cut into 4 smaller sheets) by Arches or Fabriano: watercolor paper full sheet (22 x 30 inches)140 lb cold press, 100% cotton.


Please know that although these supplies are not inexpensive,

they will last you a long time and are an investment in your creativity!
