Do any of recognize the young woman below? Elise Jansson is now a Sophomore at UMass Amherst and studying animation. She was with us since she was about 10 years old. The assignment was to do one drawing a week using different materials and after a famous artist. The middle one right below looks the most like her to me. It was after Chuck Close.
Can you guess the artist or the movement she used as her models. I’ll ask her to let me know and I will post the answers later this week so you can see how you did. Don’t you feel inspired just looking at all these pieces. Great job Elise! Thanks for letting us see these.
I do know the middle bottom one is after the Fauves (Wild Beasts). Mary Shapiro, I bet you will have the answers.
I hope you enjoyed looking at these drawings. Elise might be teaching a cartooning class this summer at the studio. She would be great at it. Elise is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Not to mention I love her and we would work really well together. The kids will love her too!
