Meet Zoe Hasham. She is an absolute delight, always positive and eager to learn. Her way of being in the world reminds me of Kathy Burke, one of the other talented draughts-women at the studio. The two drawings below were created with pencil from a photo and you can tell she is very skilled. She spent many hours measuring, correcting and re-correcting, just like any of us who want a good, realistic finished product. Zoe has the skill and knowledge required to do a beautiful portrait. However, she has recently decided to let this go for a while and immerse herself in doing creative drawings. Look at her delightful illustrations below the two beautiful portraits.
Good representational drawing from a photo is only one aspect of art. Zoe has a good dose of that and now she is using her imagination and colored pencils to explore and express herself. Wow! Aren’t these illustrations adorable? She is blessed! These are two of the ways (drawing from photos and using your imagination) to develop skills and the third is to work from life which she will be doing more of in the upcoming year.
When she comes back to class in January she wants to study figure drawing and I think she said perspective drawing. Eventually, Zoe will work on the elements and principles of design. I am looking forward to guiding her and helping her to be the best she can be. It is going to be fun for me working with someone so eager and willing to do the work.
As always, thanks for reading my blog. I sure appreciate your support.
I, too, have had the pleasure of interacting with Miss Zoe Hasham and the talent that flows from within. I am forever amazed by her skilled conversations and perspective at life…many times making me think differently myself…and I’m 50. Thank you for sharing Zoe and her may talents. Simply delicious!
Zoe is a sweet caring girl. It shows in her work. Can’t wait to see what the future brings for her and for us!
